Customer Service Representative - Ticket Sales and Retail


Ticket Booth: $14.50/ hour

Waterfront: $14.00/ hour

Job Description:

As a Ticket Sales and Retail Representative, you will work in either the Ticket Booth or Waterfront Gifts & Apparel. You will greet customers, introduce products, and sell tickets.  Since you will often be the first person our guests meet when arriving in Kingston, you will be an ambassador for the company and for the city. You will help customers to make selections by being an expert on our products and the city: offering suggestions, building customers’ confidence, finding the product or package that best suits their needs, and then completing their transaction using a Point of Sale (POS) and reservation system. You will convey expertise on all products including retail items, cruise, and trolley tickets. You will build customer confidence by asking questions and sharing product knowledge and then complete the transaction by using a retail Point of Sale system. Additional responsibilities include maintaining on-floor stock, maintaining overall store tidiness, assisting in visual merchandising, and other tasks as required.

You will also contribute to the success of the Kingston 1000 Islands Cruises & Trolleys team by accomplishing other tasks on the ships and trolleys, on the dock or at the office as required.

Job Requirements:

We are looking for candidates who are passionate about helping guests and can deliver outstanding customer service in a very demanding, fast-paced and ever-changing environment. The best applicants will be well organized and adaptable, with excellent multi-tasking skills and a proactive approach to sales and customer service, as well as a passion for Kingston. Applicants must have excellent communication skills and an overall positive outlook. You must be a team player, but also be able to work independently without direct supervision. A successful candidate will be able to elevate company standards, achieve sales goals and meet every guest`s expectations.

Experience in a fast-paced, customer-service oriented workplace is an asset. Potential for movement to a lead or supervisor position is possible.

Proficiency in other languages is also an asset.
