Lead Chef: Shore Kitchen

Job Description:

As a Lead Chef, you will plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities in the prep kitchen. You will be expected to produce high quality meals that meet the highest culinary standards for presentation and flavor, while working on a tight timeline with limited space.

You will cook on board when required. You are responsible for the supervision of all culinary staff including the recruiting, hiring and training. You will plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards and create and cost new recipes. You will purchase food and kitchen supplies. You should be comfortable working alone as well as part of a team, and you should be confident transitioning quickly from a leadership to support role, depending on your duties.

An ideal candidate will always maintain a safe, positive and professional work environment and will be approachable by both your peers and our guests.

Job Requirements:

We are looking for candidates who have at least 3 years’ experience in a high volume food service environment.  Ideal candidates will have management experience and you should have proven time and issue-management skills. You should have a strong understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and kitchen procedures.

Experience with banquet operations and trade certification or diploma would be assets.
