Discover History and Heritage

The focus of this cruise is on the history and waterfront of the city of Kingston, and its place at the beginning of the St. Lawrence River and the 1000 Islands region. Kingston is a UNESCO World Heritage Destination for its remarkable and well-preserved 19th-century defense fortifications.

The Discovery Cruise highlights the westerly Islands local to Kingston’s harbour as well as Fort Henry, shipwrecks, classical architecture, Canada’s Royal Military College and the imposing Kingston Penitentiary. 

 

The Island Belle and the Island Queen have commentary offered in six languages via headphones; English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, and Mandarin.

In the summer, the Discovery Cruise sails at 11am, 1pm, 3pm and 5pm. After Labour Day, the cruise sails at 11am, 1pm, 3pm. All Prices plus HST. No outside food or drink may be brought onboard. All cruises require 24h notice for cancellation or change.
